I just posted on the last topix of this.But John carl watts was born in 1798 md some say madison co,ky he died in 1849.that might be why you dont fine a divorce record before she trade land.From my understanding they were not divorce.If you go to the watts reunion they hold once year up at natural bridge.The fist watts were George watts familythat came to kentukcy to here them tell it.check into it.Look for family search.org you find some information.And watts reunion.

Thanks for the work Durry. Though we were able to get to Blount Co., Alabama for that side of the family we haven’t yet made it to Jessamine Co., KY. I have a couple questions about John as I have a few conflicting stories. One says that he ws a Sheriff at one point and died in 1849. Another from a possible Sagerser info was that he went West and was never heard from again. The weird thing on the last one is John Watts is a common name but I did run into a few out west that make me question the story. I do have the divorce records of he and Susan from 1843 which back them must have been a scandal. Any help on John and his life would be appreciated.
